Apprenticeships

Since the late 1990’s, Barminco has been running a highly recognised and accredited advanced apprenticeship program.

Based at our head office in Perth, Western Australia, we provide training at our fully equipped workshop and support this through development programs on-site. We provide apprenticeships in mining and various other areas including –

• Plant Mechanics (Heavy)
• Auto Electricians
• Boilermaker & Fabrication (Welding)
• Light Vehicle Mechanics.

We genuinely support the development of our people. Barminco recognises natural ability, as well as prior experience and knowledge in our Apprentices.
 
We encourage –

• Mature age applicants and candidates with prior mining industry experience and knowledge.
• Our current trade qualified employees to participate in up-skilling and gaining cross-trade qualifications.

Apprentices receive a very competitive remuneration package and a high standard of on-the job coaching.

Excelling apprentices have options available to fast-track their apprenticeship time.

Barminco are proud to have been awarded the Runner-Up for the Australian Apprenticeships Award in 2009. This National award acknowledges outstanding achievements of employers who demonstrate commitment and innovation in the way they train and manage their apprentices.
